L.O.V.E. Our Youth: Empowering the Next Generation in Avalon Park and Beyond
As Avalon Park’s Business of the Week, L.O.V.E. Our Youth is proud to spotlight the programs, events, and community partnerships that help us empower young people across Central Florida. Our mission is simple: to create opportunities for youth to learn, grow, lead, and thrive, and we’re excited to share how that work is happening right here in your neighborhood.
One of our flagship initiatives, Rise & Thrive, gives teens the chance to explore their strengths, practice new skills, and connect with mentors who encourage them to think about their future. Workshops are held in schools, community centers, and partner sites throughout Orange County, reaching youth in neighborhoods from Parramore to Union Park to Winter Park. As our 2025 Annual Report notes, “Students practiced communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving. They learned how to prepare for interviews, explore career paths, and build confidence in their abilities.” Many walk into sessions unsure of what to expect and leave with a clearer sense of what they’re capable of.
We’re also excited to invite teens to our Teen Lounge, a safe and welcoming space where youth ages 13–18 can relax, connect, and participate in weekly activities. The lounge is open Wednesdays from 2–7 PM and Fridays from 3–9 PM at 13013 Founders Square Dr., Orlando, FL 32828. Teens can sign up or learn more at loveouryouth.org/east-orlando-teen-lounge/, making it easy for families to get connected.
For teens looking to step into leadership, our Youth Advisory Board offers a powerful opportunity to shape programs, lead community projects, and represent the voice of local youth. Applications are open to teens who want to grow their leadership skills and make a difference. Interested youth can apply directly at loveouryouth.org/east-orlando-youth-advisory-board/.
This month, we’re gearing up for our Teen Job Fair, designed to help teens build resumes, practice interviewing, meet employers, and apply for real jobs on-site. It’s one of the many ways we’re preparing youth for the workforce and helping them step confidently into their future.
For organizations looking to make an impact, our L.O.V.E. Others program offers fee‑for‑service project management for youth‑based events and programs. Whether you’re launching a career exploration series, STEM program, literacy initiative, or custom youth experience, our team is ready to bring your vision to life.
We invite the Avalon Park community to learn more, get involved, and join us in supporting the next generation. And stay tuned on our social media and website for more information on our upcoming Rise & Thrive Entrepreneurship and Leadership Institute.
