Empowering Teens Through Their Voice: L.O.V.E. Our Youth’s New Center
In East Orlando, young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow — they are shaping our community today. The new L.O.V.E. Our Youth, Inc. (L.O.V.E.) center is a bold step toward amplifying teen voices and giving them ownership of the programs and spaces that impact their lives.
Youth Voice at the Heart of the Center
What sets this center apart is its commitment to designing by teens, for teens. The centerpiece, the Teen Lounge, was created entirely with input from members of the East Orlando Youth Advisory Board. Every detail — from layout to programming ideas — reflects the insights and priorities of the teens themselves.
By listening to and elevating youth perspectives, L.O.V.E. Our Youth ensures programs truly meet the needs of the young people they serve. This approach fosters confidence, leadership, and a sense of pride in the community — proving that when teens are given a platform, they not only participate, they thrive.
A Space for Growth and Opportunity
This youth-centered design goes beyond aesthetics. The center provides mentorship, leadership workshops, career exploration, and enrichment programs — all structured around the voices and ideas of the teens themselves. By engaging youth as active decision-makers, L.O.V.E. Our Youth transforms after-school hours into a time of opportunity rather than risk.
